  • Gizmology is here to benefit residents of Black and historically-marginalized communities in Greater Pittsburgh. The program is a pathway to careers in creative technology for those who may not have access to a two- or four-year degree. We’re looking for applicants who hold a high school diploma or GED, are able to commit to a full-time schedule, and are creative thinkers and makers.

  • No. We’ve done our best to make the application process simple and stress-free.

  • Curiosity is more important to us than experience. Are you interested in how things work? Are you the person who wants to look under the hood? If given the opportunity, will you make something instead of buying it? We can teach skills; we can’t teach passion.

  • Gizmology operates out of Deeplocal’s studio and production shop in Sharpsburg—just outside of Pittsburgh and within a few minutes of Lawrenceville. We are located in the renovated Fort Pitt Brewery building at 1601 Marys Ave, Suite 3G, Sharpsburg, PA 15215.

  • Apprenticeships are full-time positions with salary and benefits. Apprentices must be able to commit to an 8:30–4:30 schedule, weekdays at Deeplocal.
