Creative technology apprenticeships for Black Pittsburgh.
Built by Deeplocal
Learn from world-class artists and engineers.
Gizmology is Deeplocal’s one-year creative technology apprenticeship program for high school graduates and underemployed adults in Pittsburgh’s Black community. Our goal is to advance racial equity in creative and technical fields through on-the-job training and mentorship. Apprentices receive full-time salary and benefits—no college degree required.
Hands-on training.
At Deeplocal, we invent interactive experiences for the world’s most innovative brands. Think: Google, Netflix, Spotify. As an apprentice, you’re a part of the team—and the magic. You’ll work alongside our designers, engineers, and fabricators to bring projects to life, deep diving into electronics, mechatronics, 3D modeling, and more.
Real-world gains.
Gizmology is about finding a home for your creativity and curiosity. You’ll receive mentorship from seasoned creative technologists who bring experience from Disney Imagineering, the Department of Defense, and more. You’ll earn industry-recognized certifications as you build a portfolio of interactive work for global brands clients. And you’ll have a job opportunity at Deeplocal afterward.
“Gizmology can change lives. Our program is a tangible pathway into the tech industry and an opportunity to earn a full-time salary and benefits from day one.”
— Kirk Holbrook, Program Director
